About us

Aunties Vintage China began in the spring of 2010. The name is homage to my lovely aunties Violet and Margaret who sadly are no longer with us. My aunties had the gift of making everyone feel welcome in their home with tea (always served in bone china cups)- cakes and a chat or “news” as we call it in Scotland. I want to bring this hospitality and attention to detail to all the events I am involved in.

My Auntie Margaret worked in Aberdeen and saved her wages to collect a beautiful bone china tea set, a cup one week and the saucer the next. She left her carefully collected tea set to me and I will treasure it and in time pass it on to my daughter.

In October I took the plunge and resigned from my job and now rent my ever increasing collection of vintage china for weddings- christenings-hen nights- birthdays and corporate events. Have a look at my product catalogue to see my collection and my gallery to see the china in use.

I make cake stands from vintage china; this china has a story and was probably collected, cherished and only used for best. I enjoy converting plates in to something beautiful and functional.
